Steve Lurie—founder and president of Music Without Borders, LLC—draws on nearly 20 years of experience in the music industry as concert producer, professor, lecturer, performer, retailer, producer,and columnist. Since 2003 he has produced 2000 concerts by artists from around the globe. He is an adjunct professor at NYU where he designed the Music Business Certificate for the School of Continuing and Professional Studies and teaches How to Start a Record Label. He is also a sought-after speaker and has lectured throughout North America and Europe on the US recording industry including giving a keynote addresses at the Worldwide Music Expo (WOMEX) in Stockholm, Sweden and MIDEM in Cannes, France. As a percussionist, Steve has performed with pop, jazz, world music and classical ensembles throughout North America, Europe and Asia; as Vice President and Co-Owner of Al Franklin's Musical World in Greenwich, CT, Steve helped build one of the finest and most highly regarded music and electronics retailers in the country.
